{"id":83,"date":"2017-10-16T04:36:14","date_gmt":"2017-10-16T04:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/?p=83"},"modified":"2017-11-17T17:48:52","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T17:48:52","slug":"gb-vs-min-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/2017\/10\/16\/gb-vs-min-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"GB vs MIN Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*sigh*<\/p>\n<p>Well today was a rough one folks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/easyafrustratedsigh.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-84\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/easyafrustratedsigh.gif\" alt=\"easyafrustratedsigh\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At noon the Green Bay Packers started their battle against division rival Minnesota Vikings.\u00a0 Many fans had high hopes that the Packers would have another win on their belt and a bigger division lead.\u00a0 Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.\u00a0 The 23-10 loss may not have been the worst thing to happen to the Packers today though.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The Packers started off with the ball and had an ugly three and out giving the ball to the Vikings who also did not score on their opening drive.\u00a0 The Packers quickly had the ball again with another chance to score.\u00a0 But that&#8217;s when everything took a turn for the worst.\u00a0 And by the worst I mean <strong>THE WORST<\/strong>.\u00a0 Every Packer fan&#8217;s worst nightmare became a reality as Aaron Rodgers was taken down and shortly after, carted off the field.\u00a0 Later on in the game, our fears were confirmed, as it was reported that Rodgers had broken his collarbone again and could be out for as long as the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n<p>*sobbing*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/sobbinghowamisupposedtolivegif.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-85\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/sobbinghowamisupposedtolivegif-300x150.gif\" alt=\"sobbinghowamisupposedtolivegif\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brett Hundley enters the game and is the starter for the remainder of the game.\u00a0 With a shaky offensive line, Packers fans watched nervously, hoping that Hundley would not get injured too, as our only other QB, Joe Callahan was inactive for the game and on the practice squad.\u00a0 Thankfully Hundley made it through the game alive.<\/p>\n<p>The first quarter continued on with not much action and no score for either team.\u00a0 But that all changed quickly as the Vikings score seven with a touchdown and extra point in the first drive of the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The first drive of the second quarter for the Packers was an ugly one.\u00a0 Hundley was sacked to bring up a 4th down and an awful punt is to follow, giving the Vikings great field position.\u00a0 Luckily for the Packers, the Vikings fumbled and it is recovered by Clay Matthews.\u00a0 Green Bay took this chance and ran with it, scoring a touchdown and tying up the game at 7-7 with 10:40 left in the half.\u00a0 On the Vikings next possession, they answered with another TD to go up 14-7 with 7:22 left in the half.\u00a0 On their next drive, the Packers again, go scoreless, but the defense saves them again with an interception.\u00a0 The Pack scores three on the drive to bring the score to 14-10 with just under two minutes left in the half.\u00a0 The Vikings closed out the half with a comical drive ending with a personal foul call that brought them to 1st &amp; 40.<\/p>\n<p>With the beginning of the second half underway, the Vikings started with the ball.\u00a0 Minnesota came up with a field goal to go up 17-10. In the first drive of the half, the Packers found more injuries in Lane Taylor, Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari.<\/p>\n<p>The Struggle Bus continues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/strugglebusmeme1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-86\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/strugglebusmeme1.jpg\" alt=\"strugglebusmeme1\" width=\"236\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Vikings scored again on a field goal, increasing their lead to 10 points with a score of 20-10.<\/p>\n<p>To keep things short and sweet and to save us all from the ongoing misery that was Week 6, the Packers would have a scoreless second half, with the Vikings finding one more field goal to make the final score 23-10 Vikings.<\/p>\n<p>My ears are still ringing from the plentiful toots of the Viking gjallarhorn throughout the game.<\/p>\n<p>With more struggles likely to come for the green and gold,\u00a0 I wish you all an easy week in hopes of a better game next Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavor1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-87\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/thegreenandgolden\/files\/2017\/10\/maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavor1-300x133.gif\" alt=\"maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavor1\" width=\"300\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Until then,<\/p>\n<p>Go Pack Go!<\/p>\n<p>-KQ<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*sigh* Well today was a rough one folks.
