Reusable bags are an easy way to avoid adding more plastic waste, but are often somewhat cumbersome to carry around.<\/p>\n<p>This fun craft will transform a favorite old shirt into a bag that you can take with you on every shopping trip.\u00a0 Not only does this help reduce plastic waste from disposable bags, but it also helps reduce resource consumption and generated waste through textile manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>If you and your family are in need of shirts to transform, visit local thrift stores or donations center.\u00a0 For those near Whitewater, visit either <u><a href=\"http:\/\/goodwillscwi.org\/locations\/fort-atkinson\/\">Goodwill<\/a><\/u> or <u><a href=\"https:\/\/firstenglishlutheranchurch.360unite.com\/the-thrift-shoppe\">The Thrift Shoppe<\/a>. <\/u><\/p>\n<h3>Follow these steps for your new bag<\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Gather a marker, scissors, ruler, and your shirt.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Start by measuring 3 inches from the bottom of your shirt and make a small mark. From this mark draw a light line across your shirt.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/assets\/images\/sustainability\/blog\/T_Shirt_Bag\/Step2.png\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Next along the bottom of your shirt mark every inch.
