Am I really THAT presumptuous? Yes, yes I am. There are many ways to cook a burger and many more ways to season one. I’m not going to get fancy in today’s recipe (we can save that for another day), but if you haven’t read my Lamb Leg Steak recipe, I will introduce you to the one and only seasoning you should always keep in stock. Cavender’s All Purpose Greek Seasoning. This Greek seasoning was introduced to me in my old Boy Scout days as the secret ingredient used essentially in everything. Potatoes? Greek seasoning. Veggies? Greek seasoning. Burgers? Greek season it to hell and back. Mac and Cheese? Greek seasoning!!! (though for that one I vouch for cinnamon topping)

While I will admit, having a charcoal or wood burning grill to cook your burgers will always be the absolute way to go, I had to do mine pan cooked. Tis one of the unfortunate parts about school in Wisconsin, it is cold and people will likely ask me why I’m starting up one of the outdoor grills at 2am when I normally make these recipes (yes, I’m a night owl). So if you have the chance, I would fire one of the grills up and make these lovely burgers, especially since it is getting warmer out!

Ingredients

Beef (or my personal favorite, lamb~) lean to fat ratio of your preference.

1 tsp. Pink Himalayan Salt per burger or to taste

1 tsp. Ground black pepper per burger or to taste

1 Tbsp. Cavender’s All Purpose Greek Seasoning per burger or to taste (I lay it in heavy with an extra half Tbsp)

1 tsp. Ghee Clarified Butter

Toppings and buns of preference~

Directions

Put meat in a large bowl and add salt, pepper, and Greek seasoning.

Mix with hands, folding seasoning in to the meat until it is well mixed.

Form meat into balls for each patty.

Bring pan to medium-high heat over stove.

Once water can evaporate on contact, add butter and let melt.

Add patty and press down flat with spatula.

Allow to cook for about 30 seconds then flip and press down flat again.

Cook for about 3-5 minutes on both sides.

Serve with preferred toppings and enjoy~!

By Ian Berendsen on March 29th, 2021

All media shown are created by Ian Berendsen and are property of Disaga Corp.
