Today was the last time we met. During the last lecture today my professor gave us a list of his rules to live by. One of his rules was to take a risk and stretch yourself. Trust me on this one, it was a lot more motivational than what it sounds like in this blog. With that being said, tomorrow I plan on signing an offer for a position at Valent Biosciences as a Digital Communications Analyst and moving to a different state all by myself. Moving to a different state all by myself &#8211; that\u2019s the only con to this position. I can\u2019t let my fear of trying new things and being alone stop me from taking a huge step in my career.\u00a0I&#8217;m going to take a risk and stretch myself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this position, I will be working on their communication\/marketing team and wearing many hats. I am thrilled to expand my skills in the communication field in every aspect, from podcast work to social media management. Not only is this position a great opportunity at an international company with excellent mentors, but it&#8217;s also in an amazing city. There is not a single aspect of this transition that I am not delighted to experience. It feels as if the world is at my fingertips. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is all happening so fast! Yesterday, I had no job offers. I felt defeated. I was about to pack up my things and move back to my childhood bedroom. I wasn\u2019t proud of graduating and didn\u2019t want to have a graduation party. Now, I\u2019m touring luxury apartments. I want to scream how happy I am from the rooftops! I\u2019m watching myself grow up before my own eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My bragging is over, I\u2019m sorry &#8211; thanks for sticking with me through it. I am extremely happy I have a job, but I think that my happiness comes from seeing my hard work pay off. If you\u2019ve been following my blog, you know how much work I put into making sure my dreams come true! It\u2019s actually kind of crazy &#8211; when applying for jobs you\u2019ll have zero pay off until you suddenly have a job offer and it all comes into place within seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my senior year of high school, I wasn\u2019t ready to leave until I suddenly was. Something switched in my mind. I wondered to myself if that switch in my mind would happen for college too &#8211; now that I have a plan post-grad &#8211; it happened!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to thank UW-Whitewater for preparing me throughout the last four years to get to this point in my life. Every assignment and lesson I learned put me on this path of success. Smaller state schools can make you just as successful as large &#8220;brand name&#8221; schools; I would even argue they are better! Every single one of my professors knows my name and impacted me personally.
