Jimmy Kimmel returns to his late-night show after ABC lifts suspension

This article by David Bauder of The Associated Press- Business News is about Jimmy Kimmel returning to hosting his late-night show. The what is his return. The why is because he made some comments online about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the responses from political parties. In turn, Disney indefinitely told him he would no longer be hosting the show. The how is Disney/ABC reached an agreement to reinstate him.

“I think it’s stupid. You can have free speech, but that doesn’t protect you from what a private company want’s their morals and face to be,” My father explained. “I don’t think he should get his job back, only because you should know the rules of being a someone famous, and also the precautions you have to take, and the rules and consequences that follows.” My dad, a republican, doesn’t agree with the fact he got his job back, and thinks that Disney is sucking up to the public, so they don’t lose any more money instead of standing with their beliefs as a company. “But on the other hand, you have Jimmy. It clearly wasn’t that deep for him if he’s accepting his job back. He just wants money too.”

“I think it was wrong that Jimmy lost his job over a few little comments.” Lily, my democratic friend said. “Everyone has opinions, every single person. Why is it so wrong that we share them? It’s really not that big of a deal.” Lily clearly disagrees with the fact that Jimmy lost his job over his words. She watches the late-night show with her mom sometimes and was pretty upset when she heard about the news. “I mean so what someone isn’t a republican? Yes, what happened to Charlie was an absolute nightmare, but no one should lose their job because they talked about how the public reacted to a murder. It was really upsetting to find out that someone could lose their job over something as small as this, and it makes me wonder if I’d ever lose a job for speaking out for something like this too.” Lily stated.
