Here&#8217;s a quick review of what you need to know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ch. 3: Diagrams<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every diagram should have a subject and a predicate<\/li>\n<li>The word that is the head of the phrase always has the same function as the entire phrase<\/li>\n<li>A reminder about the different abbreviations used in diagrams is on page 45<\/li>\n<li>Learn the definitions of nodes, and what it means to &#8220;dominate&#8221; and &#8220;immediately dominate&#8221; on page 50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ch. 4: Sentences and Their Parts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Declarative statements: Subject-Verb<\/li>\n<li>Imperatives: Bare Verb, no Subject<\/li>\n<li>Interrogatives: Inversion of Auxiliary Verb and Subject<\/li>\n<li>Hortatives: &#8220;Let&#8217;s&#8221; or &#8220;Let us&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Exclamatives and precatives: &#8220;How sweet&#8221; or &#8220;Lord help us&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Verbless Interrogatives: No Verb, &#8220;How about a piece?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Fragments: Missing a Subject or Verb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember to check out our other posts for more information about these topics, and to come into Laurentide for any additional help.
