The match featured the rise of Ismaila Sarr,\nWatford\u2019s Senegalese forward who put the Reds to the sword twice in the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After scoring a tap in\noff of a poorly defended throw-in in the 54\u2019, Sarr chipped Allisson and doubled\nWatford&#8217;s lead in the 60\u2019. They missed\nthe serene presence of Joe Gomez at Centre Back, and&nbsp;Alexander-Arnold was\ncaught pulling his socks up before giving up the first goal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reds also missed\nJordan Henderson, who was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who couldn\u2019t\nshore up the midfield. Dejan Lovren deputized in place of Gomez and didn&#8217;t\ncover himself in glory during the first goal, letting the ball bounce in front\nof his man and over his head.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watford&#8217;s forward line\nhad a strong showing but face questions going forward after the distressing\ninjury of Gerard Deulofeu, who ruptured his ACL and Meniscus as a result of a\nhard tackle from Virgil Van Dijk. Deulofeu will have exploratory surgery in\nSpain in the coming weeks, and he is expected to be out for at least six\nmonths, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/amp\/s\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/amp\/football\/51714272\">the BBC<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/plrblog\/files\/2020\/03\/deulofeu-injury.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41\" width=\"556\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/plrblog\/files\/2020\/03\/deulofeu-injury.jpg 1001w, https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/plrblog\/files\/2020\/03\/deulofeu-injury-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/plrblog\/files\/2020\/03\/deulofeu-injury-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px\" \/><figcaption>Deulofeu needed to be put on oxygen as a result of the horrific knee injury<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The loss means that\nLiverpool&#8217;s unbeaten streak comes to an end at 44 games, five off the pace set\nby Arsenal&#8217;s Invincibles in 2004-05. It also means they failed to secure a\nrecord 19th straight win, leaving them on top with Pep Guardiola and Manchester\nCity&#8217;s 18 game streak in 2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liverpool also fell to\nChelsea in the FA Cup on Tuesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;ll face Atletico Madrid&#8217;s one-goal lead in a Champions League second leg at Anfield in the near future.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will take a lot to move on in Europe, but the Reds look assured in the Premier League, with a 22-point lead on second-place City.
