In my last post, I mentioned how I do not think Facebook will be that relevant in the next 10-15 years based on the platform’s current status. I think the issues of privacy, misinformation, and more have damaged its reputation that it will be only a matter of time before it becomes outdated. When Facebook rebranded itself as Meta, and tried to launch the Metaverse, many people were skeptical of what they were trying to do. Personally, I was kind of interested in the idea of the Metaverse, yet at the same time I completely understand why people were not enjoying the idea. To me, it seemed like Facebook was ready to move away from being a social media platform, and instead wanted to become a platform for virtual interaction with others. I cannot see a way for Facebook to improve its reputation, since the times have changed, and people want something different.
