A$AP Mob’s “Cozy Tapes” mixtape is actually finished. Rocky told MTV News:
It just features all of our friends and hip-hop associates and what-not, and people that Yams would have wanted. It’s an introduction to the new cozy wave. It’s really rap-punk meets alternative-underground.
Before his death, A$AP Yams was working on a project called the Cozy Tapes that would pool the talents of A$AP Mob. Rocky has compared it to Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 and The Diplomats’ Diplomatic Immunity. In an interview with AllHipHop, A$AP Ferg shared an update on the highly anticipated compilation mixtape.
We just shot the album cover art. The music is pretty much done. It’s in the process of being mixed, he said. I don’t have a date, but it should be out real soon.
Ferg declined to reveal who would be featured on the tape but did confirm that all of A$AP Mob would be on there.
On July 21, The A$AP Mob made its network television debut on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote their upcoming mixtape. Which means the project may actually be on the way.
My favorite songs on Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 has to be Yamborghini High. If you havent never listened to A$AP mob you need to get on the wave and ride it out. A$AP Mob have begun to slowly take control of fans in Rap by releasing music every year or two in memory of their owner YAMS on Yam Day.
