I find myself looking at national news over International news. I tend to follow mostly sports news however I do occasionally search for news if someone important died or something major happened in our country. I like to follow the news when big elections are happening either national, state, or locally. I follow news from my hometown by looking at their local newspaper called The Rice Lake Chronotype or The Cumberland Advocate. These are both online and easy to access. Typically I will visit Fox News for my news sources. I really like using Fox News. Their website is easy to navigate with reporters I like. I also like looking at MLB on Fox or MLB.com for stories because I mostly follow MLB stories. I have found news from searching google or just scrolling through Instagram, but I always fact check those posts. I have found posts from Fox news and other smaller news stations on Instagram. I like being able to see the posts on Instagram and have the ability to do more research about the topic on my own. I do not use AI. I know it can be a valuable tool. I just don’t like using it. I like being able to come up with ideas on my own. I like to read and watch the news when I am consuming news. Out of those two I definitely like to watch the news more. I think I retain information better when I watch something compared to reading it. When I am working I like to listen to a podcast called “Woah, That’s Good” by Sadie Robertson-Huff. When I find a story that interests me I will look at other sources like CNN, ESPN, The New York Times to make sure the information I am reading is accurate. I have been a victim of fake news from scrolling Instagram. My grandma has also been a victim of fake news however she loves scrolling on Facebook and gets a lot of her “news” from that. I think putting news on Social Media can be useful but consumers are now held to the responsibility to fake check that information.
