{"id":78,"date":"2022-03-04T03:54:31","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T03:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/michaelbsnflblog22\/?p=78"},"modified":"2022-03-04T03:54:32","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T03:54:32","slug":"nfl-broadcast-shakeup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/michaelbsnflblog22\/2022\/03\/04\/nfl-broadcast-shakeup\/","title":{"rendered":"NFL Broadcast Shakeup"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>            Troy Aikman shook up the NFL broadcasting world this past week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Aikman, a Hall of Fame quarterback who played for the Dallas Cowboys and the lead football analyst on Fox Sports\u2019 NFL coverage for more than two decades, has reportedly agreed to join ESPN as the lead analyst on their series, <em>ESPN Monday Night Football<\/em>. The deal is reportedly for five years and worth $90 million. This has created a massive shift in the world of broadcasting. If Aikman were to leave, it would create several openings for major roles for the league\u2019s longtime broadcasting partners. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The question, now, is: who will replace Aikman at Fox?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; There has been rumors that former New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton has had interest in working in television. The first and most obvious choice would be the team of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen.
