Ever since the introduction of the Internet, especially social media, journalism has changed drastically. What once was a printing and time consuming industry has become online and quick with the Internet and social media. To be a journalist back then, you had to go through schooling and training to be qualified to report. But nowadays with social media, anybody can become a journalist if quick and truthful enough. X, formally known as twitter, is a great example of this. You see a lot of unknown sources reporting news now because of how easy it is to report. A problem with this is that there can be some disinformation, primarily from parody accounts. These parody accounts spread disinformation on purpose to get clicks and views. It is never been more crucial than now to fact check every source for disinformation. The 24\/7 news cycle is the most it has been full effect ever. With social media, it has never been easier than now to break news at any time of day. Back then, you had to wait until the newspaper or tv report is published. Now, you can go on X or any social media app to get the news right away. Convergence is as easiest as ever now. With online, you can have photos, videos, links, and the story itself on one post. Meanwhile back then it was very limited. Modular has changed a lot as well. Nowadays, you can edit a post or delete it if a mistake has been made. But back then if you make one mistake, you got backlash and could potentially be out of the job. This is the case because once it was out there, you can’t take it off. Journalism has changed a whole lot over the years and I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed even more in the future years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
