The History Channel quotes him, &#8220;Let this great wonder of nature remain as it now is,&#8221; he declared. &#8220;You cannot improve on it. But what you can do is keep it for your children, your children\u2019s children, and all who come after you, as the one great sight which every American should see.&#8221; The Grand Canyon National Park Act was signed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/grca\/index.htm\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/npsgrcanyon.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of NPS Grand Canyon web page\" class=\"alignright\" \/><\/a> The National Park Service, created in 1916 and and responsible for administering the Park, provides information about the Grand Canyon online, including some stunning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/grand_canyon_nps\/collections\/\" title=\"Grand Canyon photostream on flickr from National Park Service\" target=\"_blank\">photos<\/a>, audio files of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/grca\/naturescience\/natural_sound.htm\" title=\"audio files of natural sounds\" target=\"_blank\">natural sounds<\/a> (like a bugling elk and birds at sunrise), podcasts, information about its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/grca\/historyculture\/index.htm\" title=\"History &amp; Culture (Grand Canyon)\" target=\"_blank\">history and culture<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/grandcanyonnps\" title=\"Grand Canyon videos from National Park Service via YouTube\" target=\"_blank\">videos<\/a>.
