{"id":6943,"date":"2011-04-20T07:05:03","date_gmt":"2011-04-20T12:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/?p=6943"},"modified":"2011-04-20T08:35:23","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T13:35:23","slug":"the-ludologist-game-research-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/archives\/6943","title":{"rendered":"The Ludologist: Game Research Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently came across a blog called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesperjuul.net\/ludologist\/\">The Ludologist<\/a>, which is about &#8220;game research and other important things.&#8221; The author is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesperjuul.net\/\">Jesper Juul<\/a>, a researcher at the Danish Design School, an affiliate of the New York University Game Center, and a game designer. He&#8217;s published books and articles on gaming, and he&#8217;s taught courses on digital aesthetics, game design, and programming. Ludology, BTW, is apparently the academic study of games, with the name based on the Latin <em>ludus<\/em> for game.<\/p>\n<p>The blog caught my eye because of a couple of recent entries.
