All films will be shown in the Summers Auditorium of the U.C., and are FREE OF CHARGE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 pm<\/strong>: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/groundspark.org\/our-films-and-campaigns\/straightlaced\">Straightlaced \u2013 How Gender\u2019s Got Us All Tied Up<\/a><\/em><br \/>\nA powerful documentary about the lives of teens and young adults as seen through the gender lens. Approaching society&#8217;s ideas and ideals of gender through clothes, sexuality, sports, dance, safety, consumerism and emotion, the film addresses the complexities of conceptions of masculinity and femininity for Generation Z.  &#8220;From girls confronting popular messages about culture and body image, to boys who are sexually active just to prove they aren&#8217;t gay, the students in <em>Straightlaced<\/em> illustrate the toll that deeply held stereotypes and rigid gender policing have on all of our lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Future films: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wed., March 16 at 7:00 pm<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Not Just a Game \u2013 Power, Politics &amp; American Sports<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wed., March 30 at 5:30 pm<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Pray the Devil Back to Hell<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In honor of Women\u2019s History Month, the UW-Whitewater Women\u2019s Issues Committee is sponsoring a film festival.
