{"id":4478,"date":"2010-03-29T06:09:26","date_gmt":"2010-03-29T12:09:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/?p=4478"},"modified":"2010-03-23T12:26:18","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T18:26:18","slug":"get-fit-for-spring-bike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/archives\/4478","title":{"rendered":"Get Fit for Spring &#8211; Bike!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Andersen Library is hosting this event which includes displays, speakers, prizes, free massages, and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, March 29<\/strong><em><br \/>\n2:00-2:30pm<\/em> &#8211; Speaker: UW-W Police Services representatives will speak about biking rules and regulations, safety, and defensive bike riding.<em><br \/>\n3:00-3:30pm<\/em> &#8211; Speaker: John Sotherland, owner of BicycleWise &amp; maker of Sotherland Custom Bicycles, will speak about bike maintenance.<em><br \/>\n3:30-4:00pm<\/em> &#8211; Speaker: Jen Kaina, Assistant Director of Fitness and Aquatics, UW-W Recreation Sports &amp; Facilities, will speak about workouts for cyclists, group indoor cycling classes and off-season training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, March 30<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>3:30-4:00pm<\/em> &#8211; Speaker: Dr. Donene Rowe, PhD, MD and Medical Supervisor for UW-W University Health &amp; Counseling Services, will speak about nutrition, specifically for high activity endeavors, training, and before and after events.<br \/>\n<em>4:00-4:30pm <\/em>&#8211; Speaker: Gordy Paulson, cycling coach for his own business (Paulson Performance Cycling) and a Cat 1 level racer, will speak about his experience in cycling, racing activities and coaching.<br \/>\n<em>4:30-5:30pm<\/em> &#8211; Cycling demonstrations by special guests using Spinervals DVD&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, March 31<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>1:30-3:30pm<\/em> &#8211; FREE Back Massages. Space is limited &#8211; first come, first served!<br \/>\n<em>3:30-4:00pm<\/em> &#8211; Speaker: Kevin Hardman, Executive Director of the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, will promote biking in Wisconsin.<br \/>\n<em>4:00-4:30pm<\/em> &#8211; Speakers Kelby Shaw and Ross White from the UW-W Cycling Club will speak about their experiences and perspectives of being a member of the Cycling Club.<br \/>\n4:30-5:30pm &#8211; Cycling demonstrations by special guests using Spinervals DVD&#8217;s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Andersen Library is hosting this event which includes displays, speakers, prizes, free massages, and more.
