Here are couple of places to test yours:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take the Council for Economic Education&#8217;s 20-item <a href=\"http:\/\/www.councilforeconed.org\/cel\/test\/\">economic literacy test<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Take the 5-item portion of the FINRA survey related to financial literacy, on pages 28-29 (items M6-M10) of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.finrafoundation.org\/web\/groups\/foundation\/@foundation\/documents\/foundation\/p120537.pdf\">survey questionnaire<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/WIfinlit.jpg\" alt=\"cover of WI Planning Curriculum in Personal Financial Literacy\" class=\"alignright\" \/>You can search <a href=\"http:\/\/wtwlib.wisconsin.edu\/vwebv\/searchBasic\">HALCat<\/a> (Andersen Library&#8217;s online catalog) for materials about personal finance, investments, or financial literacy. Some titles are intended to guide and educate you, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=fMcUA2EtpXEC&amp;source=gbs_ViewAPI\"><em>The road to wealth: A comprehensive guide to your money<\/em><\/a> (2nd-floor Browsing Books, HG179 .O758 2008). Others are about better educating our children, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/purl.access.gpo.gov\/GPO\/LPS49852\"><em>Financial literacy education: What do students need to know to plan for the future?: Hearing before the Subcommittee on Education Reform of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, U.S. House of Representatives<\/em><\/a> (online or in print in the 2nd-floor Federal Documents collection, Y 4.ED 8\/1:108-39) and <em>Planning curriculum in personal financial literacy<\/em> (2nd-floor Wisconsin Documents collection, ED 6\/2:C 87\/P 47\/2009). The latter title is intended to help Wisconsin teachers implement the state&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/standards\/pdf\/pfl.pdf\">standards for students&#8217; personal financial literacy.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Search <a href=\"http:\/\/library.uww.edu\/indexes\/index.html\">article databases<\/a> for information also, and find articles such as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/libproxy.uww.edu:9443\/login?url=http:\/\/search.ebscohost.com\/login.aspx?direct=true&amp;db=ehh&amp;AN=45351718&amp;loginpage=login.asp&amp;site=ehost-live\">Integrating Personal Finance Concepts into the Financial Accounting Course<\/a>&#8221; (<em>Business Education Forum<\/em>, Oct. 2009, vol. 64:no. 1, pp. 17-22 &#8212; available in the 1st-floor Periodicals Collection) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/libproxy.uww.edu:9443\/login?url=http:\/\/library.cqpress.com\/cqresearcher\/document.php?id=cqresrre2009090400\">Sept. 4, 2009 issue<\/a> of <em>CQ Researcher<\/em> on &#8220;Financial Literacy&#8221; (which includes a discussion of whether courses that cover personal finance should be mandatory in schools).<\/p>\n<p>There also are a number of web sites for improving your financial knowledge. Here are just a few: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The FINRA foundation web site has some educational materials,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/libproxy.uww.edu:9443\/login?url=http:\/\/library.morningstar.com\/Education\/EducationCover.html\">Morningstar Investment Research Center database<\/a> has a  &#8220;Help &amp; Education&#8221; tab,<\/li>\n<li>FDIC offers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fdic.gov\/consumers\/consumer\/moneysmart\/mscbi\/mscbi.html\">&#8220;Money Smart&#8221; computer-based instruction<\/a> about banking and credit, and<\/li>\n<li>The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants offers &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.360financialliteracy.org\/\">360 Degrees of Financial Literacy<\/a>&#8221; segments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please <a href=\"http:\/\/library.uww.edu\/askwi\/askwi.html\">ask a librarian<\/a> for assistance with finding materials.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/gpologo.gif\" alt=\"Government Printing Office logo\" width=\"60\" height=\"58\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"small\">The University Library is a federal depository with many federal, state, local, and international documents on a variety of current and relevant issues available to you in print, microfiche, CD-ROM, and electronically.
