{"id":2778,"date":"2009-07-20T12:52:06","date_gmt":"2009-07-20T17:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/?p=2778"},"modified":"2012-04-23T20:08:54","modified_gmt":"2012-04-24T01:08:54","slug":"author-frank-mccourt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/archives\/2778","title":{"rendered":"Author Frank McCourt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just heard on the news Monday morning that Pulitzer-Prize winning author <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frank_McCourt\"><strong>Frank McCourt<\/strong><\/a> passed away on Sunday, July 19th.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/angela_ashes_dvd.jpg\" alt=\"Angela's Ashes DVD cover\" class=\"alignright\" \/>If you are interested in reading his work, Andersen Library has his memoirs <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Angela%27s_Ashes\"><em>Angela&#8217;s Ashes<\/em><\/a> (3rd-Floor Main Collection, E184.I6 M117 1997) as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0145653\/\">movie adaptation<\/a> (2nd-Floor Browsing DVDs, Feature Film, Ang).<\/p>\n<p>The continuation of his memoirs, <em>&#8216;Tis<\/em>, is available from other UW campus libraries to UWW students and staff via the free <a href=\"http:\/\/wtwlib.wisconsin.edu\/cgi-bin\/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&amp;PAGE=dbPage\">Universal Borrowing<\/a> service, as well as being available in area public libraries including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitewater.lib.wi.us\/wordpress\/\">Irvin L.
