Crystal Marie Fleming<\/strong><\/a>, author and Associate Professor of Sociology and Africana Studies at SUNY Stony Brook, will talk about \u201cHow to Be Less Stupid About Race\u201d on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 7pm in the Irvin L Young Auditorium<\/strong>. It’s the first Spring 2019 Contemporary Issues Lecture<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fleming has conducted extensive research on racism and anti-racism, and her book, How to be less stupid about race: On racism, white supremacy and the racial divide<\/em>, combines memoir, critical race theory, social commentary and satire to debunk common misconceptions about racism.
