This fine, fine book by Mohsin Hamid was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize in 2017, now it comes to our shelves and is available for you to check out. <\/p>\n

“In a city swollen by refugees but still mostly as peace, or at least not yet openly at war a young man met a young woman in a classroom and did not speak to her…” So begins this tale of two furtive lovers, Nadia and Saeed, who live in a big city. Civil war looms on the horizon, coming closer and closer each day, and eventually knocking on their door. There are other doors though, strange black doors that are rumored to be hidden around the city. Doors that lead to London, San Francisco, Greece, or Dubai. Elsewhere.
