It&#8217;s part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/cls\/about\/lectures\" target=\"_blank\">Contemporary Issues Lecture Series<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Ajayi is a writer, speaker and <strong>digital strategist<\/strong>, which, according to her bio at the site of her popular culture blog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awesomelyluvvie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Awesonely Luvvie<\/a>, is someone who helps &#8220;figure out how to use the web strategically (not just to loiter and take selfies).&#8221; On the site of her tech blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/awesomelytechie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Awesomely Techie<\/a>, she says she &#8220;believes in using the power of technology for social change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ajayi is a co-founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theredpumpproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Red Pump Project<\/a>\u00ae, a &#8220;nonprofit organization raising awareness about the impact of HIV\/AIDS on women and girls&#8221; that uses the red pump shoe to symbolize &#8220;empowerment representing the strength and courage of women affected by HIV\/AIDS&#8221;. Every March it runs a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theredpumpproject.org\/rock-the-red-pump\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rock the Red Pump\u00ae (#RocktheRedPump) Campaign<\/a>, asking &#8220;bloggers and other digital influencers&#8221; to promote awareness and facilitate conversation about the issue. <\/p>\n<p>Luvvie is a columnist for the digital news platform theGrio.com* and also has contributed her writing to XOJane, EBONY, Clutch Magazine and Uptown Magazine, and she has been featured by the Chicago Sun-Times, Africa.com, Essence.com, AOL.com, Black Enterprise, The Root and more.
