The last episode of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hbo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">HBO<\/a>&#8216;s drama <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hbo.com\/the-sopranos\/about\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Sopranos<\/em><\/a> aired on June 10th in 2007. Hard to believe it&#8217;s been that long. Steven Holden, writing for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The New York Times<\/em><\/a> in 1999 said, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1999\/06\/06\/movies\/television-radio-sympathetic-brutes-in-a-pop-masterpiece.html?pagewanted=all\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;&#8221;The Sopranos&#8221; sustains its hyper-realism with an eye and ear so perfectly attuned to geographic details and cultural and social nuances that it just may be the greatest work of American <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Popular_culture\" target=\"_blank\">popular culture<\/a> of the last quarter century.&#8221;<\/a> Wow.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/thesop.jpg\" alt=\"Cover of book Reading The Sopranos\" class=\"alignright\" \/>Don&#8217;t take his word for it!
