You can get instructions on how to download and use it from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/registrar\/wins\/how-to\/student-mobile\/how-to-download-and-install-wins-mobile\" target=\"_blank\">Registrar&#8217;s website<\/a>. There are many apps to help you take advantage of Library resources on your mobile devices as well.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever use any any EBSCOhost databases, like Academic Search Complete, PsycINFO, or Communication &amp; Mass Media Complete, you can download an app for iOS or Android devices that makes access to these from on or off campus a snap. While your mobile device will automatically take you to the mobile site when you click on an EBSCOhost database from the Library&#8217;s webpages, the iOS or Android apps will allow you to remain authenticated with your UW-W Net ID and password for <strong>9 months<\/strong>. No more typing in your credentials on a tiny screen each time!<\/p>\n<p>Get started:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access any EBSCOhost database from the Library&#8217;s website (such as\u00a0<a title=\"Academic Search Complete\" href=\"https:\/\/libproxy.uww.edu:9443\/login?url=http:\/\/search.ebscohost.com\/login.asp?profile=web&amp;defaultdb=a9h\" target=\"_blank\">Academic Search Complete<\/a>)\u00a0on any computer or device. <strong>Make sure you are on campus or have logged in to access the Library&#8217;s resources if you are off campus.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Make sure you are on the full website, NOT the mobile site of the database.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the landing page of the database and click on <em>iPhone and Android apps<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Fill in your UW-W email address and click <em>Send.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>On your mobile device, check your email and open the email from\u00a0ephost@epnet.com.<\/li>\n<li>Select either the <em>iTunes Store<\/em> (for iOS devices) or the <em>Google Play Store<\/em> (for Android devices) to download the app.<\/li>\n<li>Once the app has downloaded, return to your email and click on the\u00a0<em>Authentication Key<\/em> link.<\/li>\n<li>Your authentication through UW-Whitewater will last for 9 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once inside the app:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on\u00a0<em>Settings<\/em> to choose which database(s) to search.<\/li>\n<li>You can also check off Peer Reviewed at the bottom of the\u00a0<em>Settings menu.<\/em><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Search<\/em> to start searching.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have a list of results, click on\u00a0<em>Refine<\/em> at the upper left to narrow your search results.<\/li>\n<li>Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) and the truncation symbol (*) all work in the app.<\/li>\n<li>You can read PDFs from within the EBSCOhost app or you can email the citation (and PDFs) to yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As announced in yesterday&#8217;s\u00a0Royal Purple, UW-Whitewater will have access to a WINS app starting Monday, 2 November.
