It claims to be &#8220;an award-winning source of unbiased, easy-to-understand answers and explanations of how the world actually works.&#8221; But for Halloween the site is offering some very special content.<\/p>\n<p>One segment of it is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.missedinhistory.com\/\" title=\"Stuff You Missed in History Class\" target=\"_blank\">Stuff You Missed in History Class<\/a>,&#8221; and its special offerings for Halloween include a podcast on &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.missedinhistory.com\/podcasts\/the-history-of-halloween-candy\/\" title=\"The History of Halloween Candy podcast\" target=\"_blank\">The History of Halloween Candy<\/a>&#8221; and two podcasts on Bela Lugosi.<\/p>\n<p>Other segments of How Stuff Works also feature Halloween-flavored audio podcasts on Oct. 31, 2014:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stuff You Should Know: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stuffyoushouldknow.com\/podcasts\/how-haunted-house-attractions-work\/\" title=\"link to How Haunted House Attractions Work podcast\" target=\"_blank\">How Haunted House Attractions Work<\/a>&#8221; (Wait&#8230;wouldn&#8217;t knowing that take the fun, or the scare, out of it?)<\/li>\n<li>Stuff to Blow Your Mind: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stufftoblowyourmind.com\/podcasts\/whats-in-a-witches-brew-redux\/\" title=\"link to What's in a Witches' Brew podcast\" target=\"_blank\">What&#8217;s in a Witches&#8217; Brew?<\/a>&#8221; (Oh, I&#8217;m guessing an eye of newt or two??)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s definitely a lot of&#8230;well, <strong><em>stuff<\/em><\/strong> at this site, including quizzes (&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/science.howstuffworks.com\/nature\/natural-disasters\/what-doomsday-scenario-are-you-quiz.htm\" title=\"Online Quiz: What Doomsday Scenario Are You?\" target=\"_blank\">What Doomsday scenario Are You?<\/a>&#8220;) and many categories including electronics, science (which for Halloween, featured explanations of how mummies, vampires and werewolves work), <a href=\"http:\/\/shows.howstuffworks.com\/techstuff-podcast.htm\" title=\"Tech Stuff\" target=\"_blank\">tech stuff<\/a>, health, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.missedinhistory.com\/\" title=\"Stuff You Missed in History Class\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/symihc.jpg\" alt=\"link to Stuff You Missed in History Class web site\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t spent much time with the How Stuff Works web site yet, but I&#8217;m interested in checking it out.
