You\u2019ll hear words like inflation and GDP and monetary policy, but if you\u2019re not studying business or economics it might all sound like <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/ss2hULhXf04\" title=\"Teacher from Charlie Brown\" target=\"_blank\">the teacher from Charlie Brown<\/a>. This semester during Money Mondays we\u2019ll discuss some of the major economic concepts, including those mentioned above. Understanding these concepts can help you make more informed decisions about how you spend your money, how you vote, and more. <\/p>\n<p>The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has helpful resources related to many of the topics we\u2019ll cover, and everything is freely available to you, even after you leave school! <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fraser.stlouisfed.org\/\" title=\"FRASER\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>FRASER<\/strong><\/a>: The Federal Reserve Archive, known as FRASER, is a great place to find historical information about the economy. You can access <a href=\"http:\/\/fraser.stlouisfed.org\/topics\/?tid=21\" title=\"Historical Economic Data\" target=\"_blank\">data back to the 1800\u2019s<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/fraser.stlouisfed.org\/docs\/historical\/volcker\/Volcker_19850205.pdf\" title=\"Paul Volcker Speeches\" target=\"_blank\">speeches from individuals like Paul Volcker <\/a>(as in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/v\/volcker-rule.asp\" title=\"Volcker Rule\" target=\"_blank\">Volcker Rule<\/a>), and much more.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/research.stlouisfed.org\/fred2\/\" title=\"FRED\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>FRED<\/strong><\/a>: FRED is home to the Federal Reserve\u2019s economic data. It contains 224,000 US and international time series, including data on the <a href=\"http:\/\/research.stlouisfed.org\/fred2\/series\/GDPC1\" title=\"Gross Domestic Product\" target=\"_blank\">Gross Domestic Product<\/a> (GDP), and the <a href=\"http:\/\/research.stlouisfed.org\/fred2\/series\/UNRATE\" title=\"Unemployment Rate\" target=\"_blank\">unemployment rate<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisfed.org\/education_resources\/\" title=\"Econ Lowdown\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Econ Lowdown<\/strong><\/a>: Econ Lowdown contains educational resources related to economics topics. Listen to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisfed.org\/education_resources\/economic-lowdown-podcast-series\/\" title=\"Podcasts\" target=\"_blank\">podcasts<\/a> or watch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisfed.org\/education_resources\/economic-lowdown-video-companion-series\/\" title=\"Videos\" target=\"_blank\">videos<\/a> that explain how economic concepts impact your everyday life.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research Resources<\/strong>: If you think you already know the basics of economics, you might want to check out some of the Federal Reserve\u2019s publications, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisfed.org\/publications\/re\/\" title=\"Regional Economist\" target=\"_blank\">Regional Economist<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/research.stlouisfed.org\/publications\/es\/\" title=\"Economic Synopses\" target=\"_blank\">Economic Synopses<\/a>.
