Under the title it says &#8220;Life made easier.&#8221; Aha! Now that sounds like a magazine I should read on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/realsimple.jpg\" alt=\"image of Real Simple issue cover\" class=\"alignright\" \/>A randomly-selected issue&#8217;s cover and table of contents promised information on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>trends that never go out of style,<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;surprising&#8221; sandwiches good enough for guests,<\/li>\n<li>diet vs. exercise,<\/li>\n<li>mentoring,<\/li>\n<li>job hunting and social media,<\/li>\n<li>new uses for a pool noodle (that&#8217;s for you, Katie!),<\/li>\n<li>ballet-barre workout,<\/li>\n<li>de-germifying the bathroom,<\/li>\n<li>an autumn reading list, and more.<\/ul>\n<p>Inside it also advertises the <a title=\"link to realsimple.com web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.realsimple.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">realsimple.com<\/a> web site (when I visited, the &#8220;New Use of the Day&#8221; was unflavored, waxed dental floss as a cake slicer, which one of my coworkers claims to have heard before). My favorite bit of text came from a University of Arizona professor of microbiology (for the article on de-germifying the bathroom): &#8220;&#8230;a flushing toilet, when viewed in slow motion, resembles a fireworks display.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In spite of the mental image of a spraying toilet, I enjoyed the magazine, I enjoyed the web site, and if I have time I&#8217;ll enjoy more issues. I think it offers a nice break from concentrated periods of work or study. The colorful content is an important part of the magazine&#8217;s value, but if you haven&#8217;t the time to visit 1st floor, UWW students and staff can read the text via the <a href=\"http:\/\/sfx.wisconsin.edu\/uww?url_ver=Z39.88-2004&#038;url_ctx_fmt=infofi\/fmt:kev:mtx:ctx&#038;ctx_enc=info:ofi\/enc:UTF-8&#038;ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&#038;rfr_id=info:sid\/sfxit.com:azlist&#038;sfx.ignore_date_threshold=1&#038;rft.object_id=991042723515758&#038;rft.object_portfolio_id=111079936016024&#038;svc.holdings=yes&#038;svc.fulltext=yes&#038;svc.selectedfulltext=yes\" title=\"UWW-only link to Real Simple via MasterFILE Premier database\" target=\"_blank\">MasterFILE Premier<\/a> database.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good weekend, everyone.
