Do you need to demonstrate to a class how to use a particular website or database? Screencasting and interactive whiteboard apps on the iPad are good ways to share content and processes with students in a lasting, visual way. Students can also create screencasts to teach others how to accomplish a particular task or explain a concept.<\/p>\n<p>There are several good apps for the iPad:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Screenchomp\" href=\"http:\/\/www.techsmith.com\/screenchomp.html\" target=\"_blank\">Screenchomp<\/a>, free (<a title=\"app store link\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/screenchomp\/id442415881?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">App Store<\/a>)<br \/>\nBasic app that allows you to use photos uploaded to Dropbox in your presentation. Finished videos live at Screenchomp.com. You can share the link.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Explain Everything\" href=\"http:\/\/www.explaineverything.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Explain Everything<\/a>, $2.99 (<a title=\"App store link\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/explain-everything\/id431493086?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">App Store<\/a>)<br \/>\nEE allows you to create individual slides using voice\/annotation\/pointers and add images or other items from your Camera Roll or Dropbox. \u00a0You can share the finished presentation via YouTube or save it onto your iPad to email out.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Doceri \" href=\"http:\/\/doceri.com\/\">Doceri<\/a>, free (but all photos\/docs are watermarked), $4.99 in-app purchase to remove watermarks (<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/doceri\/id412443803?mt=8\">App Store<\/a>)<br \/>\nDoceri has all the features of Explain Everything. Share your screencasts or other projects via email, iTunes, YouTube, or Facebook.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Educreations\" href=\"http:\/\/www.educreations.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Educreations<\/a>, free (<a title=\"app store link\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/educreations-interactive-whiteboard\/id478617061?ls=1&amp;mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">App Store<\/a>)<br \/>\nEducreations is a nice, basic screencast app.\u00a0 You can only save your creations after recording so you have to create your whole presentation at once.\u00a0 You can store your finished screencasts on Educreations.com but you cannot save them locally.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"ShowMe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.showme.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">ShowMe<\/a>, free (<a title=\"app store link\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/showme-interactive-whiteboard\/id445066279?mt=8&amp;ls=1\" target=\"_blank\">App Store<\/a>)<br \/>\nThis is a basic drawing and recording tool (no text insert). \u00a0You can upload pictures from iPad or the web.
