{"id":11142,"date":"2013-01-02T13:31:58","date_gmt":"2013-01-02T19:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/?p=11142"},"modified":"2013-01-02T13:33:27","modified_gmt":"2013-01-02T19:33:27","slug":"national-technical-reports-library-ntrl-available-through-33113","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/library\/archives\/11142","title":{"rendered":"National Technical Reports Library available through 3\/31\/13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ntrlr3.ntis.gov\/site\/home.php\" title=\"NTRL\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/images\/library\/blog\/ntrl.jpg\" alt=\"NTRL banner\" class=\"alignright\" \/><\/a><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ntrlr3.ntis.gov\/site\/home.php\" title=\"NTRL\" target=\"_blank\">National Technical Reports Library (NTRL)<\/a> is available though March 31, 2013<\/strong> to UWW students and staff. <\/p>\n<p>NTRL contains the meta-data of over 2 million scientific and technical reports, with access to over 700,000 of these reports in full-text. Some of the documents are also available online outside of the database, and discoverable by performing Internet searches. The reports in the NTRL represent &#8220;billions of dollars in research performed for, and by the Federal Government over the past 75 years.&#8221; Not everything in the database is a technical report; results will also include journal articles, conference proceedings, and theses. A sampling of recently-added titles is available in the December 15th issue of the NTRL&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntis.gov\/pdf\/NTRNews5-6.pdf\" title=\"NTRLNews\" target=\"_blank\">newsletter<\/a>. The collection is arranged by 39 Subject Categories and 375 Sub-categories, but you can search for keywords. In the advanced search you can specify authors, titles, report numbers, source agencies, years, and a subject category if wanted. Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complimentary temporary access to NTRL has been provided to Federal Depository Libraries like Andersen Library by the National Technical Information Service.
