The Finch Excavation Site, studied by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glarc.com\/\" title=\"Great Lakes Archaeological Research Center web site\" target=\"_blank\">Great Lakes Archaeological Research Center<\/a> since 2009, will be the topic of a talk by Richard H. Kubicek, Principal Investigator, at the Hoard&#8217;s Historians quarterly enrichment program on Thurs., June 21, 2-3:30pm (at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoardmuseum.org\/page.asp?content=1.asp\" title=\"Hoard Historical Museum web site\" target=\"_blank\">Hoard Historical Museum<\/a> in Fort Atkinson, 401 Whitewater Avenue). It&#8217;s a free program, although donations to the Museum are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p>There have been a few articles in area newspapers about this site, including &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/dailyunion.com\/main.asp?SectionID=36&#038;SubSectionID=110&#038;ArticleID=3975\" title=\"Debilzen article\" target=\"_blank\">Archaeologists uncover prehistoric Indian site<\/a>&#8221; (by James Debilzen, for the <em>Daily Union<\/em>, Dec. 1, 2009), &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gazettextra.com\/news\/2010\/may\/02\/anthropologists-explore-treasures-near-lake-koshko\/\" title=\"Johnson article\" target=\"_blank\">Anthropologists explore treasures near Lake Koshkonong<\/a>&#8221; (by Neil Johnson, for the <em>Janesville Gazette<\/em>, May 2, 2010), and &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gazettextra.com\/news\/2010\/sep\/04\/koshkonong-dig-yields-wealth-artifacts\/\" title=\"2nd Johnson article\" target=\"_blank\">Koshkonong dig yields wealth of artifacts<\/a>&#8221; (Neil Johnson, <em>Janesville Gazette<\/em>, Sept. 4, 2010).<\/p>\n<p>According to these articles, tools and pottery consistent with cultures from the Middle Woodland, Late Woodland, and some items from the Mississippian Era were uncovered at the Finch Site.
