Here is what was discussed as well as highlights of upcoming events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Committee is now taking nominations for the Rainbow Celebration of Excellence awards, please fill out a nomination application for anyone you would like to see honored for their contributions to the LGBT* community. To nominate someone, click on the following link: <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/lgbtcommittee\/2015\/lgbt-issues\/rainbow-celebration-of-excellence-2015\/\" title=\"Rainbow Celebration Nomination\">Rainbow Celebration Nomination<\/a><\/li>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<li><strong>Queer Cultural Series Speaker: Rob Smith, black gay veteran of the war in Iraq &#8211; Openly gay Iraq war veteran, journalist, author, and LGBT* activits Rob Smith will bring his lecture &#8220;Closets, Combat, and Coming Out&#8221; to UW-Whitewater and speak about being black and gay in the U.S. military &#8211; Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the UC Hamilton Room from 6:30-8:00pm<\/li>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<li><strong>Safe Zone Module 3: LGBT* Student Experiences &#8211; This session allows you to hear directly from students about their experiences as LGBT* people\u2014growing up, on campus, and out in the world. A great opportunity to ask students questions.
