Teaching

All of the courses that I teach are aimed at providing a foundation to enhance student learning and development. My teaching philosophy centers on encouraging creativity while teaching fundamental concepts and fostering critical thinking. Through my research field experiences I have been able to apply concepts to real-world problems of broad environmental significance. In addition, my teaching experience has allowed me to create rigorous yet rewarding courses that focus on science literacy, communication, and writing. Through teaching the scientific method students learn the ability to apply scientific principles to any environmental issue they are addressing. This allows students to gain employment in government, private, and non profit sectors.
