A Quick overview of LI and it’s development to date:
In December 2012, Dr. Tom Rios completed and submitted to Chancellor Telfer an initial summary of efforts to capture faculty, staff, students and alumni’s opinions regarding a potential Leadership Institute here at UW-Whitewater. In February 2013, Dr. Rios presented the summary findings to Chancellor Telfer and his administrative staff, and was subsequently charged with convening a subgroup with the commission to draft and submit a proposal regarding goals and procedures for a UW-Whitewater Leadership Institute.

    Current/Next Steps:
Currently a subgroup of five individuals are working together to gather additional input across three primary demographics – (1) Students, (2) Faculty/Staff, and (3) Alumni/Community. This group will gather feedback through the electronic survey (below), future focus groups, and an online leadership blog. Concurrently the group is working to identify existing campus leadership development efforts, offerings, and initiatives, and conducting a review of existing literature and researching nationally examples of model efforts.
This electronic survey will provide the group with additional insight into what a UW-Whitewater Leadership Institute might consist of – what might it do? Your feedback is important and necessary in helping us further identify and shape purpose, goals, objectives, and processes of a Leadership Institute. Additionally it will enable us to identify potential necessary resources, assessment considerations, and develop a proposed implementation timeline as part of a final recommendation to the Chancellor. Thank you in advance for your participation.
