I think the changing definition of who counts as a journalist has changed how online news works. It’s not just reporters, now anyone with a phone and social media can share news, like livestreams during protests or natural disasters. The 24/7 news cycle adds to this because news companies are pressured to get things out quickly, which can sometimes lead to mistakes. News sites don’t just post articles anymore, they add in video clips and podcasts. With modular content stories get broken into smaller pieces like tweets, or short videos which makes them easier to share and spread online. All of this makes journalism interactive, but it also makes it harder to know true.
