It’s been a while and that’s on me. The football world never sleeps and that’s been seen since the Super Bowl. Derek Carr is now a New Orleans Saint after being cut by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Aaron Rodgers and his saga is still ongoing and it seems as though he’s either going to retire or be traded to the New York Jets, as it seems like the Packers front office is all but done with him. It will be exciting to see the draft capital the Packers receive if they do end up trading him to the Jets.
In the last 48 hours, there has been an astounding amount of news as well. The Chicago Bears traded the first selection in April’s draft to the Carolina Panthers in return for pick 9, a 2023 second-round selection, a 2024 first-rounder, a 2025 second-rounder and wide receiver D.J. Moore. The Panthers are primed to take their new franchise quarterback, while the Bears are setting themselves up well for the future with a new star receiver and a boatload of early draft capital.
Then, the Rams, who are just a touch over a year removed from winning the Super Bowl, shipped star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins in return for seemingly nothing, a third-round selection and Hunter Long, who has only caught one pass in two years in the NFL. This is a perfect example of the Dolphins following the Rams blueprint and finding stars via trade instead of drafting and developing.
This next week will continue to be fed news as the NFL Free agency market opens tomorrow.
