I heavily rely on online sites to get the news. I utilize sites such as Twitter or Tik Tok to listen\/read stories. I do occasionally watch the news on TV, if I\u2019m at the gym or have some time on my hands. The news channel that I watch is WISN-12, which gives me more local news paired with the occasional story from around the United States. With that said, I\u2019m definitely more interested in local news rather than international news, mainly because those are things that I can relate to and potentially be affected by. As I mentioned, I do occasionally watch WISN-12, which is my local channel. For context, I\u2019m from Waukesha, Wisconsin. WISN-12 covers all of the news for southeast Wisconsin but does mainly focus on Milwaukee. The only news sites that I go to would be Twitter\/X and ESPN. I access both through apps on my phone, however I can get news from ESPN through Twitter. For all intents and purposes, I consider Twitter to be my favorite news site because you can access a variety of different sources and information in a very short time. You can even turn on notifications to get news updates when you\u2019re not using the app. I don\u2019t usually use Google or other search engines to find the news, usually because I can get all of my news through apps on my phone. I also only used AI once, and that was because my freshman English class wanted us to experiment with AI. I personally have never felt the need to use AI otherwise, because I can do anything it does, or access resources like Google or a calculator if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I consume news, I primarily read news stories (articles) through social media apps. However, occasionally I\u2019ll actually watch the news on TV (WISN-12), or watch the news in short-form content on Tik Tok. The main type of news that I look for is sports news, and I\u2019ll usually get that from short tweets\/posts on Twitter\/X. Sometime I\u2019ll interact with news on Twitter by reposting that tweet, or posting a tweet with my own thoughts and opinions. Twitter itself is a vacuum of news. There\u2019s always something going on, somewhere. I typically turn on notifications for my favorite sports teams and sports reporters\/insiders to get major news ASAP. I also have a few accounts in there that cover the major events happening worldwide, as I also want to make sure I\u2019m well informed. I occasionally listen to a sports podcast or two on Spotify, just for something to listen to. The podcasts that I listen to are Locked on Brewers\/Bucks, St. Brown brothers, and Detroit Lions podcast. Most of the time information covered in those podcasts is stuff I already know, but I do like to listen to other\u2019s opinions and points of views. It is always important to make sure the news that you\u2019re reading, and maybe even sharing, is reliable and true. Luckily, most apps have built in verification features like a checkmark, to verify the source that you\u2019re using. Now if I was using a website, look at the URL or website name to make sure you\u2019re using a reputable source.
