A shot to the team for next year.

Now without the program’s all-time leading scorer, and a key piece to the depth of the team, the Lady Warhawks will have to rely on some fresh faces to replace the holes in the squad.

For Transylvania, they get to move on to the Final Four to take on NYU for a shot at the National Championship in Colombus, Ohio.

Unfortunately for the Warhawks, their season has come to an end, and they went out on home court.

Chris Pittner, a fan in attendance, described the atmosphere of the contest as “incredible and electric.” Quote, “Every time we scored a bucket, I felt like the roof was going to blow off. Both fanbases brought the energy and added the playoff tension to the matchup.”

When asked about what set Transylvania ahead of Whitewater, Pittner stated, “Transylvania was able to control the rebound battle throughout the game. They were creating second chance opportunities and even third and fourth chances at some points. That felt like the main X-factor about the matchup.”

Pittner was not the only one recognizing the energy. Brookelyn Carlson wasn’t in attendance but witnessed the game via broadcast on UWW-TV.

Carlson was quoted saying, “The crowd was loud and proud. From the broadcast it looked like Whitewater fans dominated the stands, but you could still hear the “bats” chant from the Transylvania side.”

When asked about the loss, she responded with, “It was sad to see Grundahl crying at the end. I know she put everything into the year and set records at UWW. Seeing her that distraught was upsetting to see. However, if there is one way to go out, I feel like going out at home is way better than anything. So at least she had that going for her.”

Overall, the Warhawks loss was devastating for the team, but at least they went down at home.
