{"id":63876,"date":"2021-10-16T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-16T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/?p=63876"},"modified":"2021-10-14T15:27:26","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T20:27:26","slug":"canvas-update-10-16-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2021\/10\/16\/canvas-update-10-16-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Canvas Update (10\/16\/2021)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Saturday, October 16, Instructure will deploy the latest release to the Canvas environment.\u00a0The highlights of this release are listed below.\u00a0The full\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Canvas-Releases\/Canvas-Release-Notes-2021-10-16\/ta-p\/485921\" target=\"_blank\">release notes\u00a0<\/a>are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Navigation &#8211; Sticky Navigation Menus:<\/strong>\u00a0The Account, Course, and User Navigation Menus remain sticky and are always visible on their respective pages.<\/li><li><strong>SpeedGrader &#8211; Submission Status Label Edits:<\/strong>\u00a0The SpeedGrader sidebar includes an Edit icon to be used for submission statuses. Statuses can be edited the same way as in the Gradebook. Additionally, adjusting a status in SpeedGrader also applies to the Gradebook.<\/li><li><strong>Gradebook &#8211; Assignment Search:<\/strong>\u00a0The Gradebook includes two search fields: one for student names, and one for assignment names. Using the Assignment search field displays any search results that match an assignment in the course.<\/li><li><strong>Notifications &#8211; Course Notification Customization:<\/strong>\u00a0Course notification preferences can be customized in a user\u2019s Notifications page.<\/li><li><strong>User Settings &#8211; Microsoft Immersive Reader:<\/strong>\u00a0The Microsoft Immersive Reader button can be enabled in User Settings, if not already enabled by the institution.
