{"id":63657,"date":"2021-07-15T09:05:55","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T14:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/?p=63657"},"modified":"2021-07-15T09:05:59","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T14:05:59","slug":"canvas-update-07-17-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2021\/07\/15\/canvas-update-07-17-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Canvas Update (07\/17\/2021)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Saturday, July 17, Instructure will deploy the latest release to the Canvas environment.\u00a0 The highlights of this release are listed below.\u00a0 The full\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Canvas-Releases\/Canvas-Release-Notes-2021-07-17\/ta-p\/469752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">release notes<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Releases\/Canvas-Release-Notes-2021-05-15\/ta-p\/458153\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>SpeedGrader &#8211; Comment Library:<\/strong> Comments can be added and saved for reuse within SpeedGrader, allowing individual users to save frequently used comments to be reused across assignments in multiple courses.<\/li><li><strong><strong>New Quizzes &#8211; Item Bank M\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200banagement: <\/strong><\/strong>Item banks can now be shared with the entire account or individual users. When instructors share an item bank, the item bank supports a new View permission, which can be given to a user and provides access to the bank as read only. The user who shares an item bank can continue to specify editing access for other users.<\/li><li><strong>Canvas &#8211; Maintenance Window:<\/strong> Instructure has moved their intermittent maintenance to twice monthly scheduled maintenance windows. Moving forward, maintenance will be performed on the first and third Thursdays of each month, beginning at 1:00am, and running no later than 3:00am. Canvas may be unavailable to users during these windows. All users are able to view maintenance window times through Account then Settings.
