{"id":58288,"date":"2015-09-15T13:56:53","date_gmt":"2015-09-15T18:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/?p=58288"},"modified":"2015-10-21T13:21:02","modified_gmt":"2015-10-21T18:21:02","slug":"welcome-to-the-fall-2015-semester","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2015\/09\/15\/welcome-to-the-fall-2015-semester\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the Fall 2015 Semester!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back to the Fall 2015 Semester!\u00a0 While there was not a big Desire2Learn (D2L) upgrade this summer, we were busy with a number of changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amy Williams is now the new Desire2Learn Site Administrator<\/strong>.\u00a0 She will be available to help answer any questions and support issues.\u00a0 Please continue to use the <a href=\"http:\/\/d2l.uww.edu\/contact-d2l-support\" target=\"_blank\">D2L Support Form<\/a> to report your problems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There were also a few significant fixes for D2L:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Content items made in files such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, iSpring, and Adobe Presenter now display correctly. Service Pack 20 corrected an issue where these files displayed very small.<\/li>\n<li>Images saved to discussion posts no longer appear as broken links.<\/li>\n<li>YouTube videos are now able to be embedded into HTML Content pages using the Insert Stuff tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a full list of fixes from the summer, see: <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2015\/06\/26\/d2l-service-update-625\/\" target=\"_blank\">D2L Service Update (6\/25)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The following new service offerings and enhancements are also available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2015\/08\/31\/cisco-webex-d2l-integration\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cisco WebEx: D2L Integration<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Important\/Exporting Calendars.\u00a0 Documentation on both <a href=\"https:\/\/spaces.uww.edu\/x\/74E5\" target=\"_blank\">importing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/spaces.uww.edu\/x\/tIE5\" target=\"_blank\">exporting<\/a> on our Instructional Resources wiki.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed explanation of what integrations with D2L are available, and how to request new integrations can be found at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/icit\/services\/d2l-instructors#tab_Integrations\" target=\"_blank\">D2L Integrations<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The D2L homepage now contains an &#8220;Instructor Tutorials&#8221; widget underneath the &#8220;Instructor Resources&#8221; widget. Here you can find links to new and updated tutorials found on our Instructional Resources wiki.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have numerous resources available if you need assistance with D2L.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check our <strong>YouTube channel for <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/geturl.uww.edu\/1xj\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>instructor D2L tutorials<\/strong>.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Fill out a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uww.edu\/desire2learn\/contact-d2l-support\" target=\"_blank\">D2L Support form<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find <strong>step-by-step information<\/strong> on how to do common tasks in D2L from <a href=\"https:\/\/geturl.uww.edu\/10v\" target=\"_blank\">documentation provided by D2L<\/a> and on our <a href=\"https:\/\/spaces.uww.edu\/x\/BoAV\" target=\"_blank\">Instructional Resources wiki<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>We offer a D2L walk-in clinic from <strong>2:00 &#8211; 4:00PM every Friday<\/strong>. Stop in with your questions or challenges!
