{"id":55967,"date":"2012-11-08T08:46:05","date_gmt":"2012-11-08T14:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/?p=55967"},"modified":"2012-11-08T09:27:31","modified_gmt":"2012-11-08T15:27:31","slug":"d2l-course-request-enhancements-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/instructional\/2012\/11\/08\/d2l-course-request-enhancements-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"D2L Course Request Enhancements Now Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The LTC has overhauled the D2L Course Request Application and the new version is now available!\u00a0 There are a number of changes and enhancements in the new release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New title format for courses! <\/strong>Courses by default will now be named using the following convention: <em>Introduction to Programming (Spring 2013)<\/em><br \/>\nInstructors can also rename their course in D2L if desired<\/li>\n<li>We <strong>reduced the number of screens<\/strong> and clicks needed to request a course<\/li>\n<li>The application now directly pulls <strong>cross listed and combined sections<\/strong> from WINS, to eliminate confusion<\/li>\n<li>The site design is <strong>optimized for mobile devices<\/strong>, allowing you to request your courses when you&#8217;re &#8220;on the go&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Authentication upgraded to use <strong>Single Sign On<\/strong> (Shibboleth).\u00a0 Remember, to logout of the application you will need to close your web browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application can be accessed from the &#8220;Instructors&#8221; page on the D2L login page, from the &#8220;Quick Tools&#8221; listed on the sidebar in D2L, or by the direct link <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/desire2learn\/contact-d2l-support\">D2L Course Request<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have also created a short video that will walk you through a WINS timetable course request, and explain some of the new features.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YYvtBnfBQIQ?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please contact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uww.edu\/desire2learn\/contact-d2l-support\" target=\"_blank\">UW-W D2L Support<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The LTC has overhauled the D2L Course Request Application and the new version is now available!\u00a0 There are a number of changes and enhancements in the new release: New title format for courses!
