{"id":137,"date":"2017-04-05T01:42:48","date_gmt":"2017-04-05T01:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/?p=137"},"modified":"2017-04-05T01:42:48","modified_gmt":"2017-04-05T01:42:48","slug":"bell-pepper-egg-in-a-hole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/2017\/04\/05\/bell-pepper-egg-in-a-hole\/","title":{"rendered":"Bell Pepper Egg-In-A-Hole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I do realize that it has been a while since I posted, but that&#8217;s what a break is for! \u00a0Vacation is nice and now I am recharged, ready to take on the rest of the semester. \u00a0I started today off right with a nice breakfast. \u00a0It&#8217;s a traditional egg-in-a-hole..with a twist. \u00a0Instead of bread, I used a red bell pepper! \u00a0Add some cheese and you get a delicious, protein packed breakfast that will always leave you wanting more.<\/p>\n<p>Overall Cost: $3<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>-1 bell pepper of any color ($1.25)<\/p>\n<p>-3 eggs ($1)<\/p>\n<p>-1\/4 cups of cheese (.75 cents)<\/p>\n<p>-salt and pepper<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>1. Cut bell pepper into medium sized slices and cut any seeds out<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/files\/2017\/04\/image1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-138\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/files\/2017\/04\/image1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"image1\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/files\/2017\/04\/image1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/frugalfood\/files\/2017\/04\/image1.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Put a sauce pan on medium high heat and saut\u00e9 the bell peppers for a minute<\/p>\n<p>3. Add some salt and pepper on each egg-in-a-hole and fry for 3 minutes on each side.<\/p>\n<p>5.
