For me, this would not just be about attracting high school students to a company—it would be about showing them how their skills and life could be used to have a positive impact and genuinely help people. Epic’s work in healthcare technology ultimately supports hospitals, providers, and patients. That mission of service would be the center of the campaign.

The first outcome I would focus on is inspiring purpose. Many students want meaningful careers but may not see how technology is used to helping others. I would create messaging that highlights how Epic’s software improves patient care, reduces medical errors, and supports healthcare workers. Keeping the $10,000 budget in mind, something that would be low cost or non is short testimonial videos featuring employees discussing how their work contributes to better health outcomes. These stories would be shared through school partnerships, newsletters, and social media to demonstrate that technology can be a pathway to service.

The second outcome would be equitable access to opportunity. Not all students have exposure to corporate environments or STEM careers. I would use funds to host a “Technology for Good” workshop series at local high schools, especially those with limited resources. Budget would cover transportation, materials, and interactive demonstrations that allow students to explore coding, user design, and healthcare problem-solving. I would also provide take-home resource packets for students and families outlining internships, career pathways, and skills they can begin developing now.

The final outcome would be long-term relationship building. Service and helping people is not a one-time event; it requires consistency. I would invest in creating educator toolkits and counselor partnerships so schools can continue integrating healthcare technology discussions into classrooms. A dedicated outreach webpage would centralize resources and allow students to sign up for mentorship or future opportunities.

Overall, this campaign would reflect my belief that success is measured not only by recruitment numbers, but by how well we serve our community. By focusing on purpose, access, and sustained relationships, Epic can strengthen its local impact while empowering students to see themselves as future contributors to healthcare innovation.

If I was fortunate enough to be selected as a finalist for an internship with Epic Systems in Madison, I would create this campaign around service, access, and community impact.
