Imagine getting accidentally separated from your family at a very young age and have to be adopted by a foreign family to escape horrible living conditions and then growing up in a different culture, learning a new language, and basically, have your life flipped upside down for over 25 years. Not all of this is negative however as the opportunities and living conditions are better in this context but just knowing that your real family has looked for you for over 25 years not knowing if you’re okay. Now imagine meeting your Mom that you haven’t seen for that long for the first time. This is an actual incredible true story which was adapted into a film that I highly recommend watching.
I saw this movie last week with my family and trust me there was not a single dry eye in the room. The movie has garnered numerous awards and the story has captivated millions across the country. It’s heartbreaking, unflinching, and near the end of the movie the most touching in the best possible way. Watch the movie, and this scene will break your heart into a million pieces but leave you smiling and potentially in a lot of tears. The actors in this scene did an incredible job and to know that this is an actual true story makes it that much more powerful. A mother never forgets…
