All eligible members are notified at the beginning of every semester and invited to join.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/econsociety\/files\/2013\/01\/Omicron-delta-epsilon1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-175 aligncenter\" title=\"Omicron delta epsilon\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/econsociety\/files\/2013\/01\/Omicron-delta-epsilon1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/econsociety\/files\/2013\/01\/Omicron-delta-epsilon1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/econsociety\/files\/2013\/01\/Omicron-delta-epsilon1-300x100.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Omicron Delta Epsilon is an international honors society for those studying economics at the undergraduate and graduate level.<\/p>\n<p><em>Members must meet the following requirements for Iota Chapter:<\/em><br \/>\n(1) Economics must be your <strong><em>Major<\/em><\/strong> area of study<br \/>\n(2) Must have <em>completed<\/em> 12 credits of economics coursework <strong><em>With<\/em><\/strong> a 3.0 average GPA or higher<br \/>\n(3) Must have a\u00a0cumulative\u00a0GPA of 3.2 or higher <strong><em>AND<\/em><\/strong> a class standing in the upper one-third <em>(to be verified by the registrar&#8217;s office)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For more information, see the Omicron Delta Epsilon <a title=\"ODE constitution\" href=\"http:\/\/www.omicrondeltaepsilon.org\/constitution.html\">constitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There is a one time $45 membership fee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership in this society is capable of benefiting an economics major in several distinct ways:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>International recognition of scholastic achievement in economics.<\/li>\n<li>A publication outlet for promising undergraduate and graduate student papers in The American Economist, the journal of Omicron Delta Epsilon.<\/li>\n<li>Closer academic and professional relationships with the faculty at your university.<\/li>\n<li>Closer professional and social relationships with fellow ODE members at your university.<\/li>\n<li>Closer professional and social relationships with ODE members at other universities with Omicron Delta Epsilon chapters.<\/li>\n<li>ODE sponsored meetings at the annual conventions of regional, national and international associations.<\/li>\n<li>Eligibility to compete for the Frank Taussig and Irving Fisher Awards (both cash prizes and publication of essays).<\/li>\n<li>Eligibility to compete for the Outstanding Student Leader Award.<\/li>\n<li>One-year subscription to The American Economist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To join you must meet the requirements below and contact Dr. Narendra Regmi to verify your status.
