Carbuzz came out with an article revealing new info about the future of Dodge and electrification. The article stated that Dodge would be moving toward hydrogen powered engines rather than straight electric.
It went on to explain that this new Dodge Hydra would be replacing the Hellcat name due to a new engine. Going on to how Dodge had found a way to get 800hp with a combustion engine that was cleaner than traditional fuel. Too bad it was all an April fool’s joke that played on the anticipation of Dodge fans. That combined with a believable logo and lengthy article made it seem like this was the future fans have been waiting so long to hear anything about.
There was also symbolism added to the article connecting with the naming. Stating that the choice of ‘Hydra’ was due to the attempted cutting off of the head of gas-powered vehicles, only for two more heads to appear, that being Dodge answering electric with Hydrogen.
The fake was so convincing that content creators went into breakdowns and their opinions about the move to hydrogen.
With this announcement being fake, Dodge fans will have to continue the painful wait to see what their beloved brand comes up with for real.
