One of the most intimidating things when it comes to freelance work is the start. When you’re first starting, you’re probably not as confident in your skills or how quality your work is. This makes it difficult to price your work to others because you’re not confident about how much your work is actually worth. Don’t worry about it. This is a problem that anybody running their own freelance business will face at the start.

One tip you may have heard is to start off by working for free. This helps you to build a portfolio and develop your skills even further. Don’t fall for the trap of “working for exposure” though, because if you’re truly trying to turn your freelance business into a profession, you’re not going to get there by doing everything for free. Once you get a few projects under your belt, you can confidently start charging for your work.
