Spring Exhibition Schedule

Surveying the Vault: Selections from the Permanent Collection

January 21 – February 13

Reception: January 21 from 5-7 pm

This exhibition is organized by students in the Professional Practices course, including Talieh Bishop, Marie Galvin, Rebecca Gentil, Shanna Kessler, Rebecca Menarik and Emily Orsted.  The student curators collaborated to select works that explore a richness of genres, media and eras within the collection, including four of the university’s Andy Warhol screen prints.

 

Ignition

February 17 – March 18

The gallery will be transformed into a working studio where visiting artists will create and exhibit large format digital prints in a collaborative process with Arts Media Center Director Dale Kaminski. Invited artists include Derrick Buisch, Steve Burnham, Eddee Daniel, Anwar Floyd-Pruitt, Adrienne Foster, Bill Miller, Susan Messer, Meg Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, Chee Wang Ng, Hal Rammel, Nathaniel Stern, Fred Stonehouse, Wyatt Tinder, Max White and Koala Yip. Musical guests will also perform in the gallery during the run of the exhibit. Following the exhibit, some of the prints will be displayed in the Bad Weather Gallery on the lower level of the Center of the Arts.

Contributions to this exhibit were provided by Big Systems who donated printing paper for the project.

 

Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit

April 5 – April 15

Opening Reception: April 5 from 5-7 pm, awards announcement at 6 pm

This exhibit involves a competitive process to select outstanding examples of student work in a variety of media. Over $1000 in awards will be given to the top student artists and designers including special recognition in the area of ceramics, metals, drawing, book arts and printmaking.

Entries are due in the gallery on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday March 28-30. Jurying will take place on April 1.

BFA Entry and Junior Review

April 18 – 22

Family and Friends Night: April 18 from 5-7 pm

Students will present works for review by Department of Art and Design faculty to determine their eligibility to enter the BFA program and to assess the progress and graduation status of Junior BFA track students. Participating students are: Kayla Kedzior, Jennifer Pendur, Shanna Kessler, Kelly Jacob, Sonja Trocke, Nicole David, Kelsie Miller, David Stearns, Hana Song, Kelsie Miller, Matthew Straka and Ger Xiong.

Students graduating from the Department of Art and Design present their creative work in this group show. The exhibit typically feature works in all fine arts media including painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, sculpture, metals, ceramics and computer assisted design.
