Graphic Works from Oaxaca, Mexico

September 7 – October 21 Reception: September 7, 5-7 pm

Diversity Week Reception for the artists: October 19, 5-7 pm

Following up on a pilot exhibit held in the Whitewater Cultural Art Center in the spring, prints and graphic works created by some of the most successful artists in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico will be displayed in the inaugural exhibit of the fall. This exhibit was facilitated by Emeritus Professor Charles Cottle and our good friends in Oaxaca, Alili Lopez and Hildebrando Gómez. Invited artists include: Victor Calderon, Silvia Castellanos, Argelia Matus Martínez, Alan Altamirano, Ixrael Montes, Tomás Píneda Matus, Shinzaburo Takeda, Edgar Jahir Trujillo and Esteban Urbieta.

Art + Design Faculty Exhibition

October 30 – November 15  Reception: Monday, October 30, 5-7 pm

Faculty and Staff members of the Department of Art and Design will be invited to exhibit their latest work in this comprehensive exhibition. Recent research, novel approaches to new media and the introduction of recent additions to the Department will provide an opportunity for members of the university community to meet and engage with our creative instructors.

 

BFA Entry and Junior Review

November 27 – December 1

Friends and Family Night: Monday, November 27 from 5-7 pm

Students will present works for review by Department of Art and Design faculty to determine their eligibility to enter the BFA program and to assess the progress and graduation status of Junior BFA track students.

BFA Exhibition

December 4 – 9

Reception: December 4 from 5-7 pm

Students graduating from the Department of Art and Design present their creative work in this group show. The exhibit typically feature works in all fine arts media including painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, sculpture, metals, ceramics and computer assisted design.

Senior Adjudication

December 11 – 16

Friends and Family Night: December 11 from 5-7 pm

Students graduating from the Department of Art and Design present their creative work in this group show. The exhibit typically feature works in all fine arts media including painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, sculpture, metals, ceramics and computer assisted design.
