Drawing from Observation

Our new exhibition, Drawing from Observation, will open with a reception in the Crossman Gallery on Monday, June 6 from 5:30-6:30 pm. that reception will be followed by a free night of the Evening Figure Drawing session. Over thirty artists from the community based Evening Figure Drawing open studio will be presented in the exhibit which continues through July 1. Participants include current and former faculty members, students and alumni from UWW, and community members from Whitewater and the surrounding area including students from Watertown High School. Also on display are some works selected from the Permanent Collection including examples from German Neue Sachlicheit artists along with contemporary prints and drawings. The exhibit includes drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures all created from direct observation of a model rather than indirect sources.

Gallery hours are limited in the summer months to weekdays from 10 am – 3 pm. If you are traveling please call ahead to insure open hours during your visit.
