UW\u2013Whitewater instructors now have access to Kritik Writing Authorship Tracking<\/strong><\/a>! Previously known as VisibleAI, this tool is designed to promote transparency around the writing process and help instructors and students navigate the responsible use of generative AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than relying solely on AI-detection tools, Kritik provides insight into how an assignment was created. Depending on the settings selected by the instructor, this may include writing and revision history, pasted content, AI-assisted text, time spent composing, and interactions with the tool\u2019s built-in AI assistant. These insights can help instructors better understand students\u2019 writing processes and support productive conversations about authorship, learning, and AI use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructors can establish assignment-specific expectations for AI use, choose the type of support available through the AI assistant, and incorporate a student reflection on the role AI played in completing the assignment. UW\u2013Whitewater is currently using Kritik\u2019s Writing Authorship Tracking format, not its peer-assessment features.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CATLST and Jon Spike are hosting a training session with Kritik experts on Friday, September 4th at 9am<\/strong> – sign up to attend<\/strong><\/a>! The session will be recorded and made available through the CATLST Kaltura On-Demand channel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To request Kritik for a course, email canvas@uww.edu<\/strong><\/a> and include the name and Canvas URL of each course in which you would like to use the tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
